Tax Collectors Office
It is the responsibility of the Tax Collector's office to collect all taxes which include Municipal, County, and School taxes. The rate for 2022 is 1.619 per $100. with the Breakdown as follows:

Tax bills are sent out once a year, usually in June or July with four stubs indicating the due dates of August 1st and November 1st of the current year and February 1st and May 1st of the following year. If taxes are paid through a mortgage company, the bill is sent directly to the mortgage company, and the homeowner is sent a copy for his records. A ten-day calendar grace period is granted before interest is charged.

Also, for your convenience, payments by check can be placed in the drop box located in the Police Department at any time. Delinquencies: Interest is charged at 8% per annum on the first $1500- and 18% per annum on accounts over $1500. An additional penalty of 6% will be charged on any delinquency over $10,000 that is still outstanding at the end of the fiscal year. Applications for a Senior Citizen or Veteran deduction may be obtained in the Tax Collector or Tax Assessor's office. Qualified persons receive a $250 deduction on their total tax bill. New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency has announced the "New Jersey HomeKeeper Program" funded through a grant from the United States Treasury's Hardest Hit Fund. The program offers financial help to homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes as a direct result of unemployment or underemployment. It provides assistance in the form of a second mortgage loan whereby the proceeds may be used to cover arrearages and/or an approved amount of the homeowner's monthly mortgage payment, including property taxes, property insurance, and mortgage insurance.
