Regular Meeting minutes– May 11, 2017

The meeting of the Point Pleasant Beach Parking Authority was officially opened at 6:00 p.m. at 416 New Jersey Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Open Public Meetings Act Statement was read into the record
Present: Commissioner Bonsper, Lubin, Curcio and Corona

Absent: Commissioner Cheasty

Also present: Ray Bogan, Authority Attorney and Karen Mills, Clerk

Motion by Commissioner Curcio, second by Commissioner Corona to memorialize the minutes of the April 5, 2017 meeting
In favor: Bonsper, Lubin, Corona and Curcio
Opposed - None

Motion by Commissioner Corona to introduce the 2017 – 2018 Budget, second by Commissioner Curcio

In favor – Lubin, Bonsper, Corona and Curcio
Opposed: None

Lombardi request –

John Jackson, attorney for the Lombardi’s presented the color rendering of the Lombardi building located at 409 Richmond Avenue and explained the commercial renovations and expansions approved by the Board of Adjustment. At this time the sidewalk is located on Authority property which the Lombardi’s believe is the best location for all concerned. It will streamline foot traffic from their property and the parking lot through to Richmond Avenue. The Authority was concerned about the legal liability, but it was explained by Mr. Jackson that the store owners are usually the one’s accountable for their sidewalks but when it comes down to it anyone can be sued. The Authority attorney agreed. Matt Lombardi stated that they would provide the upkeep for the sidewalk. One tree is to be planted and the sidewalk pavers will match the ones used downtown. . Matt Lombardi also agreed not to start construction until the seafood festival is over as not to cause parking congestion.

The Authority found the building and project to be attractive.

Motion by Mr. Curcio to approve the placement of the sidewalk, second by Mr. Corona

Chairman’s Update – Commented that there is no money allocated in the Budget for the Authority.

Motion by Commissioner Corona, second by Commissioner Curcio to approve payment of the following vouchers
