Public Hearing-Little Silver Lk Drainage Improvment 8/25
Notice is hereby given that in accordance with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protectionís public hearing policies (N.J.A.C. 7:22-10.10), the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach is holding a public hearing on its submission of an application to the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Financing Program for a low interest loan of $3,075,000.00. The financing will be utilized to dredge approximately 21,500 CY of excess sediment from Little Silver Lake. The lake will be dewatered and the sediment excavated and stockpiled in the adjoining municipal parking lot. Clean material will be kept separated from that requiring regulated disposal. Once the material is dried, any regulated material will be loaded into trucks and transported to Bayshore Recycling Corp located in Keasbey, Middlesex County, New Jersey for processing at this facility and subsequent beneficial use as alternate daily cover material at a landfill. It is expected that 1600 truck trips will be necessary to remove the material. Trucks will exit the site and travel west on Arnold Avenue. Then travel either north or south on Route 35 out of the local jurisdiction towards the disposal location. In addition to the above work the Borough will construct additional work as follows: replacement of approximately 125 feet of wooden bulkhead with new vinyl bulkhead; replacement of the existing 12 foot by 12 foot concrete outfall structure with a new structure in the same location; installation of a concrete headwall at the end of an existing outfall; replacement of 28 linear feet of 24 inch reinforced concrete pipe; and the installation in two tide regulation chambers with sluice gates and self-regulating tide gates. It is expected that the project will last 120 days. The public hearing will be held on August 25, 2015 at 6:00 PM in the council chambers located in the Point Pleasant Beach Municipal Building 416 New Jersey Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey 08742. Representatives of the Borough will be available to answer questions and provide comment at that time. All documents related to the project will be available for public review and written comment for 30 days prior to the public hearing and can be viewed by contacting Eileen Farrell, Municipal Clerk, Borough of Point Pleasant Beach, 416 New Jersey Avenue 732 892 1118 ext. 210. Written comment may be addressed to Eileen Farrell at the above address.
