Meeting Minutes

Present: Anne Lightburn, Sal Pepe, Mickey Diaz, Ed Crawford and Greg Culp; Councilmen: Toohey
Absent: Glen Paesano and Mike Ramos; Councilman Mayer and Student Representatives: Shelby Catala and Samantha Tarabattoni
Minutes from the April 10th were approved.
Anne reported that the state has announced a $100,000,000 funding for Green Acres. There will be a funding round with grant money dispersed in 2015. The borough has a June 30th deadline to apply for the remaining grant money for the acquisition of the Risden property. Phase I structural assessment of the bathhouse has not commenced.
The committee discussed repairs to the Fisherman’s memorial which was damaged during Hurricane Sandy. The committee voted to make the following recommendations to the council; not reinstall the fence but to create a more permanent memorial that would consolidate all names with room for future names; return plaques that have not been lost in the storm and contact the county to see if they can lift and reposition rocks around the statue. Anne will draft memo for review.
Councilman Toohey reported that the Risden organization has requested the removal of the new ramp at the southern terminus of the boardwalk with potential litigation. He will also discuss the concept of having a town wide compost on the Cook’s Lane property behind Jaeger Lumber.
Meeting adjourned 8:10 pm
