Blizzard/Coastal Flood Warning - OEM Message.
This is a message from the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach Office of Emergency Management.
A Blizzard warning has been issued for the Borough of Point Pleasant Beach for snow accumulations of 18 to 24 inches of snow.
This snow will be complicated by north winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. With this in mind, residents are asked to please try to remove all vehicles from the roadway so it makes it easier for snow plows to plow the streets. All residents and visitors are also asked to please not drive during this storm due to the white out condition that will occur on both Monday night and possibly all day on Tuesday.
A Coastal Flood Warning has also been issued for the storm which has advised that our area could see Moderate Tidal Flooding at the time of high tide that will occur at approximately 12:55AM Tuesday morning. With this in mind if you live in a flood prone area, you should move your vehicles to higher ground. The Railroad Station Parking Lot has been designated an area where you can move your vehicle.
The Department of Public Works has advised that there will be no garbage or recycling pick up on Tuesday and Wednesday but will will resume again with the normal schedule on Thursday.
The Fire Department has asked that if you have a fire hydrant in the area of your residence to please remove as much snow as you can away from it to assist should there be a fire in the area.
Be advised that the Point Pleasant Beach Office of Emergency Management is actively monitoring this storm and will update as the need arises.
