HELP in Hurricane Sandy Aftermath
MANPOWER ASSISTANCE and DISTRIBUTION CENTERS for food, clothing, cleaning and other household supplies
Residents in need of MANPOWER ASSISTANCE in clearing debris from their residence are encouraged to go to the MASONIC LODGE, 911 Richmond Avenue, to make arrangements during the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. They are also open for the distribution of clothing, non-perishable foods and household supplies. They are requesting no donations. So far over 600 volunteers there have assisted in restoration efforts in many homes in Point Pleasant Beach, Point Pleasant Borough and Bay Head.
St. Gregory’s Pantry, an ecumenical food pantry located at St. Mary's by the Sea Episcopal Church, 804 Bay Avenue, has resumed normal hours, Monday-to-Friday from 10:00 AM to noon, for the distribution of non-perishable food and household items.
St. Mary’s has announced that a laptop and Wi-Fi is available for anyone who needs to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Please call the church at 732-892-9254 for further information.
St. Mary’s Church and St. Gregory’s Pantry are seeking donations of gift cards and cash to be used by those in need for prescriptions, eyeglasses, sneakers, household items, fuel, change for laundromats, etc.
Thanks to the overwhelming response by the community, no other donations, other than cash and gift cards, are needed at this time.
St. Peter’s Church has clothing, non-perishable food, and household and cleaning supplies available from Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
Harvey's Closet, located at the Methodist Church (1120 Arnold Avenue; 732-892-1660) is providing clothing.
