NEW REFUSE COLLECTION REGULATIONS
Effective January 1, 2011, the following collection regulations will be in place, with STRICT enforcement by January 17, 2011.
The owner, tenant, occupant or operator of every dwelling, apartment, hotel, morning house, store, motel, business, building, market, restaurant, residence, institutional establishment, or other premises in the Borough where garbage shall accumulate, must provide and keep on such premises sufficient and suitable metal or plastic receptacles, cans or barrels, for receiving and holding the aforesaid materials.
All receptacles, at all times shall be of such a size and weight as can be easily handled by one man, and in no case shall exceed 60 pounds in weight. No one receptacle shall exceed 45 gallons. All receptacles shall be kept in an upright position. All receptacles and covers will he marked to designate the address of the residence or business to which it pertains. At no time at one collection, shall more than four covered receptacles be set out for collection from any individual private dwelling.
At no time at one collection shall more than four covered receptacles be set out for collection from any apartment house or rooming house, hotel, motel, business, building, market, restaurant, residence, institutional establishment, store or business of any kind, including any industrial plant or complex, regardless of the number of mercantile licenses issued. No one receptacle shall exceed 45 gallons.
The Borough of Point Pleasant Beach will provide municipal service for the pickup of dumpsters only at institutional establishments and any condominium complexes, if required by law. Dumpsters shall be no larger than specified by code, and must be approved by the Borough.
Receptacles may not be placed out for collection earlier than 5:00 p.m. of the day preceding the time scheduled for collection, and must be removed from the curb
before 6:00 p.m. of the day of collection. Garbage and Trash collected on Arnold
Avenue, Channel Drive, Ocean Avenue, Broadway and Inlet Drive must have their receptacles removed before 1:00 p.m. on the day of collection.
ATTENTION ALL BUSINESS OWNERS: If the new (4) can limit does not
accommodate your needs, the Borough recommends that you research private pickup to alleviate any inconvenience or interruptions of service to your trash collection.
